An incident involving a woman assaulting an American Airlines employee over being asked to wear a mask at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was captured on video on Wednesday.
47-year-old Yolanda Yarbrough was aboard Flight 2027 from Los Angeles to Phoenix when she refused to wear a mask while in the air, according to AZ Family.
After landing in Phoenix, an American Airlines employee told her that she couldn’t get onto her connecting flight to Las Vegas because she wouldn’t wear a mask.
Yarbrough became irate and punched the employee in the face, according to police.
“If I don’t get on that flight you going to be beat down to the death right here,” she screamed while pointing at the employee.
An officer attempted to restrain Yarbrough by grabbing her arm but she was seen resisting on the video.
Police said she was arrested and booked into jail on an assault charge.
American Airlines added that Yarbrough was banned from flying on American “pending further investigation.”
