A Florida woman with a rather dedicated online following was forced to defend her home from intruders during an NBA Finals watch party, resulting in shots fired.
The incident took place in northwest Miami-Dade County on October 4, when several armed men stormed the home of Ansley Pacheco.
In the bathroom at the time of the incident, Pacheco was not totally aware of what was going on outside, but quickly pieced together what kind of danger her husband and 7-year-old son were in.
βWhile I was in the bathroom, I started to hear the commotion, I started hearing, βGet down, get down, give me everything you got,ββ she recounted.
Heading to her nightstand in only a shirt and her underwear, Pacheco retrieved a handgun, which for some reason appears to have been unchambered.
While racking the slide, she found herself face to face with armed men.
βI went to the nightstand; I grabbed the gun and I opened the door. I saw one of the guys face to face with meβ she said.. βHe told me to put my gun down. I just shook my head no, and then I said, βDonβt shoot me, my son is in here,” she told Local 10 News.
A few shots were exchanged, with Pacheco somewhat firing blindly and attempting to use drywall as cover.
In the end, the 162k-follower Instagram model and OnlyFans account holder managed to force a retreat on the part of the intruders.
βThey finally just ran out,β Pacheco said. βMy husband ran and got the gun and shot back at the vehicle that was leaving.β
The entire incident was caught on home surveillance footage, obtained by Local 10 News and the New York Post, respectively.
Despite losing a few items and potentially getting a wake-up-call on the importance of training for such events, Pacheco is just happy she did her part.
βI just knew that I had to do something, and my first instinct was to grab the gun and defend my husband and my son,β she said.
