UFC fighter Miesha Tate is drawing flak from certain types for comments relating to female fighters getting OnlyFans accounts, and has been accused of implying that women who sell adult content of themselves are “desperate.”
In a recent YouTube video, she answered comments regarding whether or not she’d join up with the British-based subscription adult content service.
“No,” she said. “Where in this video did I say I was desperate?”
Several current and former UFC women use the site, including Paige VanZant, Rachael Ostovich, Jessica Andrade and Bec Rawlings.
According to the Daily Mail, Bantamweight fighter Julia Avila was particularly scathing towards Tate, accusing her of “tearing women down” for selling special access media pertaining to their bodies.
“This is aggravating,” Avila wrote. “Yes, women have an OnlyFans and what of it? Maybe they want attention. Maybe they want an extra dollar. Maybe they just want to celebrate their womanhood and how f***ing gorgeous they are! It’s not our place to judge or to tear down another woman for it.”
