A DC-area rapper’s corpse was propped up in a local nightclub as part of a heinous ritual, according to national news sources.
The Bliss nightclub has apologized for the Sunday exhibition of the body of rapper Goonew, who was murdered weeks prior to the event.
“Our deepest condolences to Goonew’s family, friends and fans,” the venue wrote in a statement. “Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent out our venue for Goonew’s home-going celebration.
“Bliss was never made aware of what would transpire. We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended,” the venue continued. “Please keep Goonew’s family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time.”
According to the New York Post, Goonew’s body was propped up on stage during his “funeral,” and visible to clubbers.
A $40 cover charge was listed for what was dubbed “The Last Show.”
“During the event, Goonew’s body was propped up on stage, wearing designer clothing and a crown,” the Shade Room wrote on Instagram.

The rapper had reportedly been shot dead in Maryland, but his body was transported to DC for the exhibition.
