The return to a world of pure imagination tops the DVD releases for the week of Feb. 27.
“Wonka”: Timothée Chalamet stars in this magical musical origin story of mischievous chocolatier Willy Wonka, helmed by “Paddington” director Paul King.
“Though there may have been skepticism about ‘Wonka,’ there’s no need to worry about this origin tale in the hands of King and Chalamet, who gives himself over fully to the wonder and magic of this role, putting his own mark on the iconic Willy Wonka,” writes Tribune News Service critic Katie Walsh in her review. “Go ahead and enjoy this delightful delicacy for what it is: a playful and heart-string tugging take on a beloved character that’s smarter than it lets on.”

“Fear the Walking Dead: Season 8”: This entry in AMC’s zombie horror franchise shuffles in with its eighth and final season.
“Miranda’s Victim”: Historical drama based on the 1963 sexual assault case that led to the establishment of Miranda rights when getting arrested in the U.S.
“My True Fairytale”: Following a serious car crash, a teen girl pursues her childhood dream of being a superhero in this mystery flick.
“Ocean Boy”: Luke Hemsworth stars in the Australia-set film as a drug-dealing surfer dad on the lamb with his son, who believes they are on a fantastic vacation.
“Pretty Red Dress”: Drama in which the titular garment drives a wedge in a Black South London family.
“The Black Mass”: A serial killer stalks college girls over a 24-hour period in this horror flick inspired by a 1978 incident in Florida.
“The Blessing Bracelet”: With Easter nearing, a woman rediscovers a piece of jewelry that helps restore her faith, both spiritually and in matters of the heart, in this Hallmark TV movie.
“The Independent”: A journalist stumbles onto a conspiracy involving a presidential candidate in this political thriller starring Jodie Turner-Smith, Brian Cox and John Cena.
“The Night They Came Home”: Western in which a white lawman and Native detective join forces to track down a criminal gang.
“The Really Loud House: Season 1”: No one uses their inside voice in Nickelodeon’s live-action sitcom based on the animated series.
“The Three Musketeers: Part 1 – D’Artagnan”: New French adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas classic, featuring François Civil, Vincent Cassel and Eva Green.
“V/H/S 85”: Shudder’s horror anthology series returns with five found footage segments set in 1985.
“The Roaring Twenties”: This Criterion Collection release boasts a 4K digital restoration of director Raoul Walsh’s 1939 crime drama starring James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart.

“Poor Things”: This adaptation of Alasdair Gray’s 1992 novel from director Yorgos Lanthimos, a sci-fi fantasy riff on “Frankenstein,” is an Oscar contender for best picture and director, as well as best actress for Emma Stone and supporting actor for Mark Ruffalo.
“The Moon”: Korean space drama in which an astronaut is stranded on the lunar surface.
