A woman who made a name for herself in the adult content industry has broken free in hopes of finding herself a high-value man- but is it too late?
Megan James, an Australian who runs the page “The Chaos Of Her,” claims she’s hanging up her OF account while she still has a shot at finding a man and raising a family.
“The end of an era,” she wrote. “My creativity, my confidence, my sensuality, my connection to myself, my happiness and my bank account thrived. But I learned a few things in the last few months that have meant this avenue of money flow no longer aligns with the vision I have for who I want to be.”
James admitted that her “job” is “100% affecting even the healthiest relationships.”
Additionally, she’s unhappy being labeled as the girl “boyfriends subscribed to.”
According to the Daily Star, James claims she’s not shaming women who utilize OnlyFans, but doesn’t see an avenue in which she can continue making content and find a “high-value man” at the same time.
“In no way am I shaming the OF girls,” she wrote.
James, who has 39,000 followers on Instagram, admits that she is now aware that pornography can cause damage to the psyche by interfering “with your neurological pleasure pathways”.
“Previously, porn was a fantasy, a girl you would never meet… now these are every day girls, they’re girls like me who you can bump into at the beach, a café, in a supermarket,” she wrote. “Even if you are the most open-minded person, which I am, this is 100% affecting the healthiest relationships.”
Unfortunately for James, her efforts may be too late— large samples of polls across the web show that men are overwhelmingly against dating women who have had OnlyFans accounts, with one ComicVine/GameSpot poll showing that only 26% of men from all walks of life would be willing to date an adult content creator.
On a GirlsAksGuys.com poll, a whopping 71% of men said they would not date a woman with an OnlyFans account, while only 11% said they would.
“Honestly, no. I wouldn’t care about the money, I’d care about how they got into OnlyFans and why they still do it,” one respondent commented. “I think I could barely be with someone who did OnlyFans in the past, but if they wanted to continue doing online porn (there’s no way of denying it’s just that)/erotic pictures and videos, I wouldn’t want to pursue anything romantically.”
“Certainly not. Absolutely disgusting,” one British respondent chimed in. “Imagine dating someone who does not respect herself and devalues herself by saying I am only worth £4.99 a month!! A woman who does OF tends to have unresolved daddy issues/trama. Will find it extremely hard to pair bond with potential partners.”
Still, there’s always a few who will take the plunge.
“Yes, if they give me some of their money,” one person replied.
