A teacher in Florida was arrested and has been in jail for more than a week after allegedly having sex with a student in her car.
Lauren Angelica King, 32, was arrested in early March and charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior.
Police in Fort Myers were told by a 17-year-old witness about her actions with the student who is believed to only be 12 years old.
When speaking with investigators, the alleged victim told an investigator he had given his teacher his phone number a few months ago.
King is accused of sending the student sexually-charged text messages before eventually sexually assaulting him.
“[The victim] stated King called him and said she could meet him in the parking lot of his grandmother’s apartment complex located at [address],” a police affidavit stated.
“[The victim] met King and entered her vehicle. She then began to…..,” and the document describes her “providing oral sex to him,” and in the back seat, “they then have sexual intercourse.”
King reportedly told the victim not to tell anyone about what happened and offered him bribes.
“[The victim] advised that he felt as though he had done something wrong and was uncomfortable through the whole ordeal,” the police report stated.
King offered him cash and headphones to keep him quiet and even professed her love for him.
“King mentioned romantic feelings to [the victim], telling him that she loved him.”
Fort Myers police say voer 4,000 messages were sent back and forth over a one-month span.
Those texts contained nude photos and a video of King performing a sex act.
According to Daily Mail, she sent him $235 for his birthday and bought him gifts, including an iPhone, Beats headphones and a computer.
She even tried to make him jealous by texting him that she was having sex with other students.
“It’s hurtful that I send my child to school and these people that are put into position of authority, that I trust to watch over my children, they return them back to me like this,” the victim’s father told Fox4.
After being arrested, she was taken to the Lee County Jail, where she is being held on a $350,000 bond.
During her first court appearance on March 8, the judge said they believed it was not an isolated incident and raised the possibility of other victims coming forward.
If she is able to securd the funds for the bond, she she will be required to wear a GPS monitor and will be placed under house arrest.
Her next court date is scheduled for April 8th.
