A massive concert at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, has left at least eight people dead and multiple people injured as people attempted to push forward toward the concert stage while rapper Travis Scott was performing on Friday.
The concert, called Astroworld Festival, was held in an open-air park near the Houston Texas stadium and the site of the old Astrodome. Around 50,000 people were in attendance.
According to CNN, the Houston Fire Chief believed there was a massive push by the crowd to get to the front of the stage. The people who were already upfront then got crushed between the wave of people and the security gates.
Security then got into a panic as it tried to pull people over the barriers and treat people who became unconscious.
A make-shift medical tent reportedly treated at least 300 people.
Video posted on social media shows the confused rapper looking out into the crowd as an ambulance attempted to make its way toward the front.
Scott, who is a Houston native, was the headliner. Other music acts include Young Thug, Bad Bunny, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, and Master P.
