A sultry female doctor in Canada lost her medical license after having sex with a bedridden cancer patient at the hospital.
Oncologist Dr. Theepa Sundaralingam reportedly began sexting her patient before forming a relationship with him. The relationship eventually led to her staying with him during treatment and even having sex in his hospital bed.
While the relationship was a secret, it eventually fizzled out, when she told the unnamed patient that she was in love with another colleague.
“’I was physically emaciated and emotionally exposed and the loss of a critical relationship defeated me,” the patient said. “What compounded this toll was her refusal to continue providing medical care at the same time.”
According to the Daily Mail, the not-so-good doctor pleaded no contest to sexually abusing a patient and was stripped of her license on Wednesday. She must pay $16,000 to cover patient therapy costs, and an additional $6,000.
At her hearing, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario effectively informed Sundaralingam that she deserved to lose her license.
“You were responsible for your patient’s health, care and support, but instead you took advantage for your own personal satisfaction,” the panel said in the findings. “You then withdrew that support for your own personal preference at a time when your patient was at his lowest point. You have disgraced yourself and the profession.”
