Video footage has been circulating on social media of a Good Samaritan being killed after attempting to stop the theft of a truck in North Carolina.
The carjacking and murder occurred on March 14th but video of the incident is just now being brought to light.
According to Lumberton police, witnesses saw good samaritans spring into action at a gas station to halt a carjacking momentarily before a suspect stole another vehicle.
In the process of stealing the vehicle, Jonathan Adam Lecompte, 38, fired shots at the suspect but was unable to subdue him.
The suspect then used the stolen truck to ram Lecompte and run him over.
He was transported to a hospital where he died due to his injuries, according to ABC.
Lumberton police officer chased the suspect in the stolen vehicle that eventually crashed on Selma Road near Highway 41.
Ricky Alex Driggers, 28, was charged with first-degree murder, larceny of a motor vehicle, fleeing to elude arrest, and two counts of attempted common law robbery.
