Former child star and pop icon Britney Spears recently posted multiple explicit photos to social media, prompting concerns from her fans.
Fans were caught off guard when she shared no less than eleven racy photos within the span of one hour, with all the photos being NSFW [Not Safe For Work] in nature.
Spears claimed the releasing of photos of her body brings her “joy,” and that it is empowering.
“I know that a lot of people don’t understand why I love taking pictures of myself naked or in new dresses,” reads a leaked excerpt from her upcoming memoir, obtained by the Daily Star. “But I think if they’d been photographed by other people thousands of times, prodded and posed for other people’s approval, they’d understand that I get a lot of joy from posing the way I feel sexy and taking my own picture.”
Still, many of her fans -some who have been loyal for a quarter of a century or more- showed concern for Spears’ behavior.
“Just stop with these kind of videos and posts. You are free now. Live your wonderful life not the one on social media,” one fan wrote.
“You are so fab but I just don’t understand the need for these posts all the time,” chimed another.
Spears recently made headlines after revealing she got an abortion following a relationship with Justin Timberlake back in their heyday.
“I loved Justin so much,” she recounted. “I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
