Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady teamed up with T-Mobile to create a funny, albeit fictional scenario explains how a once-retired “Gronk” ended up back in the Super Bowl.
The two former members of the New England Patriots, who now play for Tampa Bay, were all about the gags in the recent advert.
In the scenario presented, Brady called Gronk to ask him whether or not he should retire.
“I got one word for you: retirement,” Gronk told Brady from the golf course. “If you retire now, you’re gonna be walking on soft sand in a week. Retirement is like winning another one! Maybe I’ll even join you.”
Unfortunately for Gronk, his “poor signal” led to Brady getting a distorted and different message.
“If you retire now, you’re soft and weak,” the garbled feed yells out. “Just come to Florida and win another one, maybe I’ll join you.”
Gronk then finds out via a perseverance-themed Brady press conference on TV that he has been “un-retired.”
The plucky football player -who has shown his ability to use self-deprecating humor on shows such as “Family Guy”- then asks his mom where his “football pants” are.
According to the New York Post, the ad is scheduled to be released prior to the game.
