After being released from prison last week, 42 Dugg is back with new music. The Detroit rapper’s has already released a new single, “Go Again.”
The video for the track includes footage of Dugg’s release from a Georgia prison, where he spent 17 months on gun possession charges. He was welcomed by his label boss, Yo Gotti, and a fleet of luxury cars, including a Rolls Royce.
In the clip, the 28-year-old, born Dion Hayes on the city’s east side, can be seen fanning out stacks of money, visiting a strip club and surrounding himself in shopping bags from Dior, Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton.
The video for “Go Again” racked more than 44,000 views in the two hours after its release on Monday.
Dugg was sentenced to one year in federal prison in April for failing to surrender in an earlier gun case.
At the time, he had been in an Atlanta prison for approximately one year since being arrested after flying to Ypsilanti’s Willow Run Airport aboard a private jet from Memphis, where he attended a National Basketball Association playoff game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors.
While behind bars, the rapper used his social media channels to protest his jail conditions, and Gotti later posted an offer of $2 million to “any lawyer” that could get Dugg out early.
Despite his Oct. 16 release, Hayes also must serve three years’ supervised release, pay a $20,000 fine and refrain from illegally using drugs.
On Spotify, Dugg has two collaborations with Lil Baby, “We Paid” and “Grace,” that have earned a combined 521 million streams on the service.
