A woman in Michigan is suing a man for $10,000 after he allegedly ‘ghosted’ her after one date.
According to the lawsuit filed in 2020, Richard Jordan went on a date with QaShontae Short and allegedly ditched Ms. Short.
Now he’s being sued for $10,000 because she claims he intentionally hurt her emotionally.
According to TMZ, a court hearing over the case was recently held and the roughly 10-minute Zoom video is something to behold.
“To be honest with you sir, I thought this was just gonna be thrown out,” Jordan said to the judge. “We had a date, one date, and nothing else after that, and now I’m being sued for $10,000. I think this is a waste of your time.”
Judge Herman Marable Jr. started the hearing with a notice to the parties that the case should be in circuit court, not his. The judge asked Johnson about the claims to which he responded, “To be honest with you sir, I thought this was just gonna be thrown out.”
“We had a date, one date, and nothing else after that, and now I’m being sued for $10,000. I think this is a waste of your time.”
Judge Marable turned to QaShontae Short, who appeared to be in an airport on speaker phone, and the two quickly start arguing back and forth.
At one point, the judge ripped off his face shield to begin yelling at Short for her disrespect of his time and the judicial process.
Short claimed Jordan “did not show and left on her mother’s birthday and her mom had just passed away.”
She claimed his act was intentional and meant to deliberately hurt her.
After Short was muted and left the Zoom call, Judge Marable ordered the claim be moved to a circuit court.
According to Daily Mail, Short has a history of filing lawsuits that have been thrown out, including one against the Flint Police Department for $300million.
