A British woman was sentenced after investigators looked into multiple rape allegations she made against two men and found they were false.
According to Essex Police, Cathy Richardson made the claims to police last year between January and May. Police then began investigating the two and brought them in for questioning. One man was submitted to a forensic search, while another wore a GPS tracking device just to prove he didn’t go to the areas Richardson had claimed.
Both men were cleared by evidence and survelliance.
That led police to turn their attention to Richardson, who ultimately came forth and admitted she had lied about the assaults.
She was charged with perverting the court of justice and was sentenced to five years and one month in prison.
