MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Residents in a home in southwest Ohio had an unexpected adventure when a wild turkey broke through a window and into a child’s playroom.
Bodycam video released by the township’s police department shows efforts to get the panicked bird out of the house. Glass and other objects can be seen on the floor of the room as an unidentified person tries to capture the turkey with a net.
Despite the damage caused by the turkey, a woman living in the home is sympathetic.
“That poor turkey, though,” she can be heard saying. “Oh, I feel so bad for it … it’s probably hurt.”
The bird eventually is caught in the net, but it escapes just before it’s carried out of the room. It then makes a dash for the window, breaking more glass and then getting out.
It’s unknown what happened to the turkey after it escaped. There were no reports of injuries to people in the home.
