Residents of a west Houston neighborhood got quite a surprise yesterday evening when they saw a tiger roaming their suburban streets.
Multiple residents took video of the big cat walking around before one man, whom some reported to be an off-duty police officer, points a gun at it (this is Texas, after all).
A woman who was filming the incident said, “it has a collar. It is somebody’s pet,” according to ABC13. And sure enough, it wasn’t long before the owner emerged and convinced the man holding the tiger at gunpoint to let him take the tiger away.
Tigers are the largest living cat species and are allowed as pets in several states in the U.S., including Texas.
