Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt has been sent home after footage surfaced of Hunt assaulting a woman in February.
The football player reportedly assaulted the 19-year-old on February 10, following an argument in a hotel.
While the woman did strike the athlete in the face, his response involved an explosive act of violence that left her dazed and crouched on the ground, leaving her open for a swift kick from Hunt.
According to TMZ, police were called to the scene but no arrests were made. Surveillance video was reviewed by police and sent to prosecutors.
At the time, the victim claimed that Hunt kicked her out of his room after she refused to hook up with one of the men in his entourage. In response, Hunt’s camp claimed it was a matter of racism.
It is unknown why Hunt has yet to face formal charges by law enforcement or the NFL.
