Victoria’s Secret is making modeling history. This time the lingerie and intimate apparel company has selected Sofia Jirau as its newest model, making her the first to be diagnosed with Down syndrome to make it big with the company.
According to CBS News, Jirau says her selection was a “dream come true.”
The 25-year-old Puerto Rican will be featured in the Love Cloud campaign the company is rolling out. Along with Jirau, the company will feature Miriam Blanco, who is paraplegic, Slyvia Kwon, who is pregnant, and Celilo Miles, a Nez Perce Tribe-Wildland firefighter.
Jirau has modeled during New York Fashion Week and has been performing as a profession since 2019.
Victoria’s Secret announced the collection on Valentine’s Day.
