A tourist in central London experienced a painful encounter after being bitten by a King’s Guard horse during a botched photo op.
The trend-worthy incident, which has been making its rounds on the internet, highlights the potential dangers of interacting with working animals.
The video shows a line of tourists eager to pose with the horse outside the Household Cavalry Museum.
As more tourists took their turns for a photo next to the war horse, the animal appeared to grow increasingly agitated, snapping at several people who got too close.
Eventually, a woman in a black baseball cap got her chance to stand next to the horse, directly under a sign that read: “Horses may kick or bite.”
Unfortunately, the prophetic sign rang true after the horse bit the woman’s arm, causing her to collapse to the ground in pain.
After the woman fell, the King’s Guard, who was stationed with the horse, used his sword to signal to the cameraman, instructing him to get a police officer.
According to LBC, the King’s Guard consists of well-trained soldiers responsible for protecting the monarch and royal properties.
Despite their serious duties, they often become a tourist attraction, with many visitors wanting to take photos with them and their horses, disregarding the warning signs.
In a separate incident in May, a woman went viral for touching a King’s Guard horse despite signs warning tourists of the risks.
However, not all interactions are negative. In that same month, a woman had a touching moment with a King’s Guard horse. She gently stroked the horse, which then rested its head on her forehead, creating a heartwarming scene that contrasted sharply with the more common outcome.
