A woman protesting sexual assault perpetrated by Russian soldiers against Ukrainian women ran out during a film premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
According to the NY Post, the woman, only wearing panties, was splattered with blood and Ukrainian colors and had the message ‘stop raping us’ painted across her chest.
This comes after a captured Russian soldier admitted to committing war crimes, including being involved in a gang rape of a young girl in a village just outside of Kyiv.
The red carpet event was celebrating the first film release from director George Miller since 2015’s “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The movie “Three Thousand Years of Longing” stars Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba. Near was on the red carpet when the protester stormed the stage.
The protester has not been named and it’s uncertain if criminal charges are coming.
She was only able to run out for a few seconds to a minute before security was able to remove her.
