An adult film actress has left the industry after getting hitched— but admits there are aspects of her old job that she will miss.
April Olsen has distanced herself from her old life, having spent only three years making professional adult content.
However, this was by design: Olsen told herself on day one of filming that she had to have an exit strategy.
“My quitting process started second that I walked onto a set,” she said on a podcast. “I was thinking ‘okay how are we going to get ourselves out of this?’ I thought I was going to do a five-year plan, but it ended up being around three which I’m okay with.”
After getting married, however, her perspective on the industry changed— despite her significant other not seeing an issue with it.
Even though her husband was happy to partake in some filming during the 2020 lockdowns, Olsen is happy to be done with porn…Well, mostly.
”I don’t have to worry about offending a large group of men whose feelings will get hurt if I don’t say I’m super horny all the time,” she said. “I’m actually not horny ever … sometimes in the mornings and then it fades off during the day. I’ll miss the ladies though.”
Claiming she was a bad porn actress, Olsen stated that there was no fire on set when it came to her work.
“I felt like I couldn’t really be myself, because I had to be a different version who was…c***-hungry or something,” she said. “That was actually never me, I’m fine without it? I think maybe I was a bad porn star in a way, because I did keep it pretty clinical.”
According to the Daily Star, Olsen now helps coordinate sex scenes for television and film productions.
