Pat McAfee has spent two years giving money to spread the word about how difficult kicking a field goal is. Now he may have an injury claim to deal with after an Indiana University student blew his knee out ahead of the ESPN “Gameday” segment.
According to For the Win, the IU fan was picked from the massive Gameday crowd that had gathered. Jeram was warming up when he heard a snap and crumbled to the ground. The worst part – the injury was aired live.
ESPN had a second kicker ready to go, unlike most teams.
McAfee confirmed the injury hyping the second kicker, Jake, saying that if he made it both he and Jeram would receive the $100,000.
Jake had the distance but not the accuracy.
