A fan wearing nothing but an American flag Speedo, black Vans and calf-length black Adidas socks ran on the court midway through the fourth quarter of the Rockets’ 122-117 loss to the Kings on Friday night at Toyota Center. It turns out, it wasn’t just a random fan who was having a little too much fan on April Fools’ Day.The streaker was Seabass Perez, who is a well-known professional bodyboarder from California. If there was any doubt, the fan made sure to put his Instagram handle @SeabassPerez on his back and stop near midcourt so everyone could get a good look at that handle.
Perez, who has more than 44,000 followers on Instagram, posted a video on social media last week of him stripping down to the same Speedo and black socks combination and jumping on a counter inside a Ross Dress For Less Store.
In that video, Perez was politely asked to leave the store. It didn’t end as well for him at the Rockets game as he got slammed to the ground by three security guards. The takedown was so intense, Kings center Damian Jones was laughing and re-enacting the wrestling-like takedown for his teammates while security still tried to get Perez under control.
Perez’s big moment came when the Rockets had a 101-101 lead with 5:50 remaining. The Kings went on a 13-2 run immediately after the interruption to put the Rockets away. The loss isn’t all bad news for the Rockets, who actually are battling for the best possible NBA Draft Lottery odds. The loss ensured the Rockets (20-58) would keep pace with the Orlando Magic for the worst record in the league.
