A Hong Kong “Instagram model” known for flaunting her wealth and strategically showing skin wastied up and held at knifepoint, eventually surrendering nearly $500,000 in luxury goods.
So Mei Yan, who lives in an apartment block, was awoken by three men who had burst into the residence on Tuesday night.
“When I went out of my bedroom to check, three men were already inside my flat,” she said.
The influencer, her infant son and her house nanny were all held captive while the knife-brandishing men made off with expensive goods.
According to Knewz, Mei Yan later said that she had her hair pulled and was threatened when her captors demanded to know where she kept her cash.
Ultimately, the men brought in quite a bounty during their robbery.
“Ten handbags, seven watches, a laptop computer, and two mobile phones were stolen in the incident,” police said in a statement. “The haul is worth about HK$3.6 million.”
Police are still looking for the suspects, and Mei Yan has since challenged their collective manhood.
The three men are so useless that they can only rob women and kids,” she said. “They even beat a six-month-old baby boy, how shameless are they?”
Her apartment compound’s security staff weren’t off the hook, either.
“I’ve told the security guards 10 million times not to let anyone in without my permission,” she said. “But they still allowed these three weird men in caps and masks to go upstairs.”
