A hockey team in Russia suspended its cheerleading squad after the wives of the players became jealous- and now the fans are upset.
The Russian ice hockey club known as AK Bars is facing backlash after relieving the so-called “Bars Angels,” after they were told to to focus on a more “family-friendly” image.
The “Angels” were reportedly not well-liked by the spouses of the players.
“The arguments were that supposedly other people’s wives don’t react very well to beautiful girls. Therefore, the club decided to abandon the services of the support group altogether,” former Bars Angel Rigina Barieva said.
According to the New York Post, the cheerleaders of the Tatarstan-based team were dressed in green and red spandex with white trim, though other outfits were also worn.
The team is allegedly “taking a course in family values and cultural leisure.”
