But it’s time.
As a form of penance for @RadioMoser, we finally release the video of @RycroftMark taking a swig from Moser’s chew spitter DURING an Avalanche game.
Enjoy. And Merry Christmas. pic.twitter.com/h5LUD3W1Jf
Marc Moser and Mark Rycroft have been broadcast partners for only this season, so there’s always an adjustment period. However, Rycroft got a rude awakening into the play-by-play man’s chew habit during a live broadcast.
According to Awful Announcing, Rycroft reached for a cup of what was believed to be tea or coffee. What he got a swig of was Moser’s “spit.” Moser chews tobacco during the game and uses a cup to spit into. That cup is what Rycroft grabbed, drank from, and immediately tried to cleanse his mouth.
Both of them were professional during the incident as neither verbally reacted and kept the broadcast going smoothly.
Moser has been the play-by-play man for the Colorado Avalanche for eight seasons and this is Rycroft’s first. As long as the pair work together, Rycroft will avoid this mistake going forward.
