An unruly man who caused significant damage at a New Jersey hotel met his match when he encountered a tough police officer roughly half his size.
A video posted on social media shows a man trying to break into the lobby of an Atlantic City Marriott hotel by punching the glass door, shattering one of the panes instantly.
To get inside, he continued kicking the glass door repeatedly, damaging its hinges and sending glass everywhere.
The footage shows the suspect standing at the door, breaking his way inside. Once he reaches the front desk, he acts as if nothing has happened.
However, he soon had bigger problems after an Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD) K9 handler entered the building.
The K9 handler tried to restrain the man, but the much taller suspect resisted.
The officer, unwilling to tolerate any more nonsense, struck the suspect and took him to the ground.
The internet responded with joy, seeing a glimmer of pre-2020 policing making a comeback.
“That cop was a wrestler,” one person commented in the Daily Mail’s comment section. “Nice takedown!”
“This is America every day,” another person added. “The talk of entitlement needs to shift to why criminals feel so entitled that they think this is ok and don’t get consequences. No one should have to go to work and be scared of individuals such as this man.”
“David and Goliath,” a third commenter said.
“Yup, now THAT’S how it’s done right,” a fourth person added. “That was very refreshing to behold. Bravo to that police officer. Someone should give him a medal.”
