The Metro Nashville Police Department terminated an officer on Wednesday following the emergence of a video showing him inappropriately touching a woman during a staged traffic stop while he was in uniform.
The video, labeled “Can’t believe he didn’t arrest me,” shows a woman named Jordin in the driver’s seat, joking about speeding. The camera then shifts to show a white squad car in the background as Jordin remarks, “I’m not going to get a ticket…I’m going to show him my t**s.”
When the officer, who calls himself “Officer Johnson from PD,” approaches the car, he cites Jordin for speeding and asks for her license and registration. Jordin admits she doesn’t have them and proceeds to expose herself to the officer.
In response to Jordin’s actions, the officer comments, “Ma’am, it’s 2024. I can see t**s on the internet any time.” Jordin then suggests, “Well, what if you touched them?” The officer complies and is seen reaching into the car and groping her. He also touches himself over his clothing.
The video does not fully show the officer’s face but briefly displays what seems to be part of a Metro Nashville Police Department patch on his uniform. The officer eventually decides to let Jordin go with just a warning.
The video concludes with Jordin thanking the officer, while the man in the passenger seat reacts with disbelief.
After the video was brought to their attention on Wednesday, Metro Nashville Police quickly initiated an investigation, confirming that the officer involved was Sean Herman, who had joined the force in 2021.
Herman was dismissed from his position on Thursday. Police spokesperson Don Aaron commented on the incident.
“That was one of the most outrageous, disrespectful acts that a person here could do and, by disrespectful, I mean to all the MNPD employees and this agency,” Aaron said.
According to News Channel 5, the MNPD believes that the incident was prearranged by Herman and the two individuals in the car when it was filmed at the end of April.
It remains uncertain whether Herman was officially on duty when the video was made, and the Metro Nashville Police have not provided any additional comments on the matter.
