A foreign OnlyFans girl was permanently denied entry to the United States, with the alleged reason being that the government denied her entry because of “prostitution.”
The British e-girl, known as Hex, produces content via a VR platform to her Fansly and OnlyFans accounts- often behind a 3D avatar wearing animal ears.
While Hex looks like a 3D drawing, she’s actually a real person sitting at her gaming chair- utilizing a movement-tracking 3D filter that turned her into an “anime” style character.
According to VICE, Hex attempted to come to the United States, with officials reporting that the woman’s profession was deemed “prostitution.”
“If [you’re an] American citizen that’s doing Fansly/Onlyfans and trying to go to the USA, good luck. You will be permanently denied,” she said in a tweet. “They have refused my visa because I’m a ‘prostitute.’”
Technically, such work is legal, but that’s a matter for the courts.
Hex stated that her arrival in the US was less than welcoming.
“The woman gave me a very dirty look when I explained everything to her,” Hex said. “I told her it was a virtual game and I use a VR headset, she didn’t understand anything I said, all she said to me was, ‘so do you meet these people on this website.’ I said ‘no absolutely not.'”
“My reaction to the notice was honestly ‘what the hell? How is this possible? What I’m doing is completely legal,’” she told Vice. “I was very upset and confused, it baffled me completely and it still does.”
Still, not everyone agrees with the US’ decision
“‘Inadmissibility’ is a legal concept that constitutes a broad array of immigration violations that can cover anything from polygamy to substance abuse to what immigration calls ‘engaging in prostitution,’” said Clement Lee, the Associate Director of Immigration Legal Services at the Urban Justice Center’s Sex Workers Project. “When sex workers have criminal convictions under laws that criminalize sex work, we regularly see that those people may encounter intense questioning by immigration authorities to see if there exists grounds to deny them entry. But even when people DON’T have criminal convictions related to sex work, they may be subject to similar scrutiny.”
