A police officer in New York’s Monroe County rescued a dog that had fallen through ice on the Erie Canal in the early hours, police and fire officials said. Ogden Police said Sergeant Travis Gray rescued the dog on his own. This footage shows Sgt Gray walking across the ice to get to the dog, who is heard whimpering. Gray then helps the dog out of the water, and the dog shakes the water off itself. “The dog was exhausted and hypothermic but did recover,” police said.
