A mother of two who used crowdfunding methods to pay for surgeries to make them appear more masculine has expressed their frustration with the fact that people “misgender” them.
Cole Moore, a biological woman who bore two children before wanting to “transition” to a more masculine appearance, managed to raise $2110 of privately donated funds to have their breasts removed.
“Hi, my name is Cole,” the GoFundMe read. I am a single parent to 2 beautiful children, full-time retail employee, and I am also trans! My pronouns are he/they. I am transmasculine non-binary, which means, for me personally, I identify closer to the ‘man’ end of the binary spectrum.”
“I am getting top surgery this year (double mastectomy). My consultation is on June 16th, and my surgery will soon follow. My out-of-pocket cost for the surgery is $3,900 after insurance. I will also have to take at least a month off of work. My monthly bills add up to $1,100. I have also added a $500 cushion to my goal for gofundme’s fees, totalling $5,500,” Moore added.
Unfortunately for Moore, no amount of surgery could change the perceptions of those around them- as strangers continued to recognize them as a biological woman.
“You know what I don’t get,” Moore said in a TikTok video, “Is why people still see me as a woman.”
“What more could I be doing,” they continued, “I literally cut my titties off.”
They then began crying.
“I don’t think I look like a woman,” they sighed.
The video was shared on Twitter via LibsOfTikTok, where it gained 384,000 views.
