A new bikini was dropped for the Fourth of July weekend but didn’t receive the best feedback that online retailer Fashion Nova was likely hoping for.
The barely-there bikini went on sale for $11.99, but Fashion Nova’s Instragram post promoting it received quite the reaction.
“Well, This Will Leave An Interesting Tan Mark. Our Bikini Will Have Everyone Feeling A Little Extra Hot This Summer,” their post on Instagram read.
The modest bikini top didn’t seem to be much of a concern for Instagram users, but the bottom which features a butterfly and a tiny piece of fabric to cover one’s genitals did.
“What is with this style?!? May as well be naked,” one user wrote.
“That bottom should be for the bedroom, not tanning,” another chimed in.
Another -seemingly pointing out the airbrushed photo of the model- commented on the bathing suits’ inability to properly cover a female’s body parts.
“Where’s her 🍪… lol pretty tho ❤️,” they wrote.
“They got a ❤️ just because I loved the 🦋 other than that, we know most of our coochies won’t fit in that 🙌😂🤷♀️,” another said in response to the bottoms.
