Video recorded out of New Mexico shows a woman attempting to run over her ex-boyfriend, and the footage ultimately assisted in the woman’s arrest by local authorities in Las Cruces.
Amanda Gonzales, 25, was charged with two fourth-degree felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a fourth-degree felony count of criminal damage to property over $1,000, as well as misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
The incident that led to her arrest took place on Sunday morning, when police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle crashing into a home.
Upon arrival, officers found Gonzales’ gray 2015 Nissan Altima lodged on the rock landscaping just outside the residence, and noted that the house and another vehicle were both badly damaged.
According to a statement by the LCPD, Gonzales had reportedly gone to the home to confront her ex-boyfriend, who was there with his new girlfriend.
Prowling around the house and banging on windows, Gonzales eventually became enraged, striking her ex as he walked outside to see what had happened.
Getting in her car, the jealous ex-girlfriend used her vehicle as a weapon, attempting to run her ex-boyfriend over and damaging property during her act of rage.
Gonzales was detained at the scene.
