April 13 – Social media personality and professional boxer Jake Paul and ex-UFC fighter Nate Diaz have agreed to a boxing match on Aug. 5 at American Airlines Center.
Paul, a social media influencer has built a massive following, initially from the defunct social media app Vine, then due to his YouTube channel before he started his professional boxing career in 2020.
Paul has a career record of (6-1, 4 KO’s), but is coming off his first career loss, a split decision against Tommy Fury.
Diaz fought in the MMA for more than 15 years after winning the MMA reality TV show “The Ultimate Fighter,” and earning a UFC contract as a result. Diaz had a notable UFC career and owns the third most victories by submission in UFC history.
Diaz became a free agent when he opted not to re-sign with the UFC after his contract expired in 2022.
The fight will be distributed and co-produced by DAZN a sports streaming service and will be an eight-round contest fought with 10-ounce gloves at 185 pounds.
