A California man claims he was running from someone when he jumped a barbed wire fence at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo.
Once inside the zoo the man also climbed a four-foot barrier into the African Adventure exhibit where two lionesses are housed. According to the Fresno Bee, one of the lionesses grabbed hold of the man’s foot and released him when a security guard got to the enclosure.
The Fresno police found drug paraphernalia on the man and he was treated for minor injuries. Police believe that he was under the influence and they are investigating his claims of being chased by someone.
