Actor Devin Ratray, who played Buzz McCallister in “Home Alone,” was arrested on Wednesday on domestic violence charges, according to KFOR in Oklahoma.
Ratray, 44, faces charges of domestic assault and battery by strangulation and domestic assault and battery charges, the report said. He is accused of trying to strangle his girlfriend in the couple’s Oklahoma City hotel room earlier this month.
On Wednesday, Ratray “turned himself in and was processed through and bonded out,” according to Fox News.
Ratray was staying with his girlfriend in Oklahoma City at the time to appear as a celebrity guest in a Christmas convention. The actor was reported to have consumed a bottle of wine and more than 10 shots of alcohol while stopping in two separate restaurants over the course of the night, according to the report.
While at a bar, Ratray became angry when his girlfriend handed out two of his autograph cards to fans without charging, the report said.
The argument carried over to the couple’s hotel room, where Ratray reportedly pushed his girlfriend down on the bed, placed one hand on her throat and the other over her mouth.
“This is how you die,” Ratray reportedly told his girlfriend while choking her. Ratray only stopped choking her after she bit his hand, then punched her in the face, the report said.
The girlfriend was able to leave the room, but when she later returned to retrieve some personal belongings, Ratray pushed her against a desk. The woman suffered multiple injuries from the attack, including bruising under her left eye, marks under her right eye, marks above the left side of her upper lip, a bruise on her chest and a sore right arm, according to the report.
