Police in New South Wales, Australia, have charged a former Miss USA contestant with two assault charges after she beat her ex-fiance with a metal dog leash.
Brittany N. Poteet, a 34-year-old who once bore the banner of Virginia in a Miss USA competition, has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The attacks took place earlier this year at the victim’s home in Croydon.
According to news.com.au, the two are separated and Poteet now lives with Aboriginal artist Nathan Peckham.
Poteet has a bachelor of Biomedical Engineering and a masters of Nuclear Engineering, and has been performing with Kingdon Wrestling Entertainment as a wrestler.
The Miss Globe Australia 2019 winner and 2011 Miss Virginia USA winner hails from a blue blood Virginia family.
Poteet has a habit of being arrested for attacking loved ones, and was previously charged in the US for misdemeanor assault and battery.
