A Florida man trapped a writhing, snapping gator in a garbage bin in front of a house while jittery onlookers recorded the daring feat.
In the video, the hissing alligator walks backward as the man pushes the bin closer to the gator, the 3-foot bin scraping across a sidewalk and driveway on its side with the open end facing the gator.
“Let me know when the head goes inside [the garbage bin]!” the man says to onlookers. “Let me know! Somebody let me know when the head goes inside of the thing!”
When someone yells, “The head is in!” the man drops the lid onto the gator’s head.
Eventually, the fighting gator is forced into the bin, and the man turns the bin upright, slams down and clamps the lid, and then wheels the bin about 400 yards across the street to a nearby pond, where the alligator is released.
The Central Florida man says in a social media post that he now wants to start a gator-trapping business.
