For the second time in as many home playoff games as a female animal rights activist tried to delay an NBA game by anchoring herself to a portion of the basketball court. This time the target was the basketball hoop.
According to the NY Post, the Timberwolves were battling the Grizzles in Memphis, Tennessee, when a woman came out from the crowd and chained herself to the basketball hoop during the first half. The woman was wearing a shirt that said “Glen Taylor roasts animals alive.”
Security immediately was able to remove her and carry her out of the stadium.
It’s believed the protester is part of the group, “Direct Action Everywhere.” The group tweeted out her identity as Zoe Rosenburg.
Taylor owns a chicken farm as part of his business portfolio. Taylor recently stated he’s willing to kill the chickens due to the bird flu outbreak happening across the U.S.
This is the second time a protester has delayed again. In the Timberwolves play-in game, a woman ran out onto the court and attempted to glue her hand to the court. Needless to say, it did not work.
Taylor has actually sold the Timberwolves to a group of investors led by MLB legend Alex Rodriguez. Though he’s still technically the owner until the season is over, his ties to the team are over.
