A Virginia man who was saved by first responders after overdosing on heroin was recovering in an Alexandria, Virginia hospital when less than 24 hours later he overdosed again.
Upon investigating, Alexandria police discovered that man’s drug dealer, 25-year-old Michael “Flip” Filipowicz and his accomplice Dana Gotliffe signed in to visit the man to sell him heroin, according to NBC Washington.
The city of Virginia says that they are focusing on getting help for those who are addicted and putting a stop to suppliers. So, the man won’t face any charges but Filipowicz and Gotliffe were arrested and both are being charged with conspiracy to distribution.
“Our first step isn’t to charge the person that has overdosed. “We’re looking to get to the suppliers and the dealers so that we can have an impact on the flow of drugs within the city.” Alexandria Deputy Chief David Huchler told NBC.
