Diners who allegedly didn’t want to pay for their meal at a restaurant in Kazakhstan had some pretty harsh consequences to face.
Staff members at the Pavlodar restaurant reportedly called in their private security company when a customer challenged the bill, according to The Sun.
Another customer captured the scene on video– which shows the confrontation between the customers and the SWAT-style guards, armed with AK47 assault rifles.
The security guards storm the restaurant and corner the diner and one of his companions.
The Sun reports that “One customer was punched repeatedly and then clubbed to the floor with the butt of the gun….another is shoved to the ground and then kicked in the face.”
The security firm that supplied the guards claims its employees acted in self-defense after one of the diners hit a guard and another tried to grab his rifle, the report said.
The restaurant owner told local media they are still investigating the video.
Police, meantime, have arrested three men who were involved in the incident. They face up to seven years behind bars if convicted of ‘grievous bodily harm’.
