The Volunteer State showed it’s still among the best in the nation when it comes to patriotism. A Nashville International Airport terminal effectively came to a grinding halt as everyone joined in to sing the national anthem for the children of fallen service members.
When an American Airlines arrived at the gate and prepared to board Gold Star children on a trip to Disney World in Orlando over the weekend, traveler Jen Tringale recorded an amazing sight.
“The whole airport literally stopped and sang the national anthem with military present in salute,” she wrote on Facebook. “Most every person standing around, myself included was bawling at the sight of these kids and spouses who have paid so great a price for our country.”
The scene was so poignant, Tringale will likely remember if for the rest of her life.
“Seeing the general public in an airport stand still to honor these kids was simply beautiful,” she said.
The flight took off over the weekend and was sponsored by the Gary Sinise Foundation.
