Like father like son, the Caray family line is famous in baseball with patriarch Harry Caray leading the way with his stint as the play-by-play announce for the Chicago Cubs for 25 years. He was known for his wild personality and his desire for beautiful women. On Thursday evening, his son leaned into the family genes while reading a promotion for Seat Geek that caught social media’s attention.
Chip Caray didn’t go full Brent Mussberger, but he knew what he was doing.
The Cardinals announcer had just finished reading an ad promo for Seat Geek, a ticket reseller vendor, when he acknowledged what everyone was watching on TV back home by saying, “Who knows? Maybe you’ll get to sit next to her.”
It was a beautiful moment where the camera operator locked in on this well-endowed woman and Caray acknowledged the obvious.
I’m sure Saturday Night Live did a skit on this in the mid-to-late 1990s with Will Ferrell playing the elder Harry saying something more perverse than his son this week.
Harry Caray spent 25 years as the Cardinals lead broadcaster before spending another 25 years with the Cubs.
Chip Caray joined the Cardinals broadcast booth in 2023.
