The city’s Thanksgiving festivities won’t include a live parade and will be confined to TV and the web this year, Mayor de Blasio said Monday.

“It will not be the same parade we are used to,” he said at a press conference. “It will be a different kind of event. They’re reinventing the event for this moment in history.”

Macy’s would provide details later Monday, he added.

He said the Thanksgiving celebration would be similar to this year’s version of the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks show, which was greatly scaled back.

“You will be able to feel the spirit and the joy of that day on television, online — not a live parade, but something that will really give us that warmth and that great feeling we have on Thanksgiving Day,” de Blasio said.
