Which offense was worse? The $22 coffee or the hammer smashing a vehicle.
It was a spiraling situation at the “Taste of Heaven Espresso” south of Seattle when a man, angry about paying $22 for a coffee and bottle of water, threw his coffee at the drive-thru waiter and she in response took a hammer to his vehicle.
Emma Lee told a local news station that she only took the hammer to the man’s car because he threw the iced coffee at her. She also claims he told her, “Nobody is going to miss you.”
The customer in question is a regular. He’s complained about the high prices during his last few trips.
Lee told him that if he didn’t like the prices, he could go elsewhere.
She called the police and filed assault charges against the customer for his coffee throw.
Police say the man also can take action, filing property damage charges for his windshield.
