A Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy took time out to help a baby alligator cross a busy highway.
Deputy Hererra discovered the 2-ft. long gator trying to make it to the other side of a four-lane road in Lakeland, FL and halted traffic. While the little guy sprinted across the road, Deputy Hererra can be heard rooting “You got this, little guy!”
After the gator finally makes it to the other side, he quickly disappears into some bushes with there’s an old phosphate pit on the other side.
How did the baby gator cross the road? With the assistance of Deputy Herrera of course! (video taken on Shepherd Rd in Lkld, gator went into old phosphate pit) “PCSO – we are a full-service law enforcement agency” #gatorcrossing #onlyinPolk ???????? pic.twitter.com/JykQjVxc5Q
