Utah lawmen in the city of Grantsville spent April 1st issuing tickets- only this time, they were issuing the kind of tickets you’d want.
GPD Officers Cody Painter and Michael Watkins spent the day rewarding drivers- ranging from the elderly to barely old enough to be behind the wheel- for safe behavior, issuing movie tickets after rattling drivers with faux traffic stops.
One individual who was actually speeding got the “special treatment,” with GPD officers doing a walkaround of his car with a K-9. After putting on a charade for an adequate amount of time, he was issued movie tickets as well.
On April 1st the Grantsville Police Department in Utah decided to have fun with the community,” Painter said on his YouTube video. “They made traffic stops on vehicles and instead of issuing citations they were able to issue tickets to the movies! We couldn’t do what we do without the continued support of our community! Thanks again for making Grantsville Utah one of the safest communities in Utah to live!”
