An Olympic gymnast known winning a gold medal as well as for her “unimpressed” face ended up in the hospital after suffering from severe kidney stones.
McKayla Maroney was sent to the emergency room earlier this week after she began throwing up uncontrollably and suffered severe pain.
“Tuesday I was throwing up all day, with severe pain in my back and stomach,” Maroney wrote on the social media site. “Had to come to ER at 3am because pain kept getting worse, and I couldn’t stop throwing up… Just got my CT scan back. I have a few kidney stones.”
According to the New York Post, she has since left the ER, but little has changed.
Maroney became famous for her “not impressed” face after winning a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics, and quickly became a meme.
On a darker note, the now 25-year-old was one of several US gymnasts who spoke up against Larry Nassar before he was convicted of sexual abuse in 2018.
Maroney, who has a Cameo account, is currently on pain management.
