A Sriwijaya Air jet with 62 people on it has gone missing after it took off from the Jakarta airport.
According to CBS News, the airplane was declared missing around 2 p.m. Saturday.
Flight tracking showed the plane lost more than 10,000 feet of altitude in less than a minute, which indicates there may have been a deathly dive involved.
Media in Indonesia say fishermen have spotted metal objects near the Thousand Islands and one has reported hearing an explosion.
Indonesia has launched their national Search and Rescue team.
The plane was not one of the recently re-instated Boeing 737 MAX planes that were grounded for nearly two years after multiple crashes and hundreds of deaths were caused by a faulty system.
